CHAIR'S REPORT

The Chair reported on the Free Skates at community rinks and the False Creek 2010 Winter Games Walk that took place last weekend as part of the Park Board's support of the one-year countdown festivities, and the February 19th opening celebration of the Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre in Hillcrest Park.

Committee Reports

Items on Planning & Enviroment Committee agenda were Urban Apiary Project, Sports Fields and Jericho Marginal Wharf. Services and Budget Committee items included #1 Kingsway Operating Plan and Budget, Vancouver Olympic Centre Operating Plan and Opening, 2009 Operating Budget, Fees & Charges for Special Events/Fields and Federal Municipal Infrastructure Funding.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT

Park Board related items on Council and Committee agenda this week are 2009 Adavnce Approval of Capital Expenditures, Citizen Advisory Committees and Request to close part of a lane for Phase Two of Emery Barnes Park.

STAFF REPORTS

Vancouver International Sculpture Biennale
The Board approved that, with written permission, some of the temporarily installed sculptures remain on park land beyond the originally agreed on 18 month period but not beyond September 2015, and that, with written permission, sculptures which are removed after one exhibition may return as part of a subsequent exhibitoin, and that all sculptures temporarily installed be removed by September 15 as per the existing agreement.
