CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on Earth Day celebrations in a number of Vancouver parks, Percy Norman Pool's 50th anniversary celebration, Art in the City at the West End Community Centre, Emergency Preparedness Week workshops and national Day of Mourning.

COMMITTEE REPORT
The most recent Services and Budgets Committee agenda included March 2010 operating statements and Theatre Under The Stars new lease.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
Park Board related item on City Council and Committee agenda this week: Cycling in Vancouver: Looking Forward to 2010/2011.

STAFF REPORTS

Report by the Stanley Park Ecology Society - Ecological Integrity of Stanley Park
The Board accepted for information a report from the Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) on the "Ecological Integrity of Stanley Park". The 229 page report, authored by SPES, is meant to function as a clearinghouse of information about the park's natural ecosystems.

Historical Marker in New Brighton Park
The Board accepted the donation of an historical marker with information about the Battle at Ballantyne Pier, to be installed in East Vancouver's New Brighton Park. The marker will be in place for the 75th anniversary of this significant event in the history of longshore worker/employer relations in Vancouver.

Financial Statements to March 31, 2010
The March 2010 financial statements were received for information including those for the Donations Program and Stanley Park Restoration Project.

Lawn Bowling Clubs - Operating Agreement Renewal
The Board approved the renewal of the Operating Agreements with the Dunbar, West Point Grey, Kerrisdale, Granville Park, Vancouver, Vancouver South and Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Clubs for a further 5 year term commencing May 18, 2010.

Trout Lake Community Centre Award of Contract
The contract for work package #1 for reconstruction of Trout Lake Community Centre was awarded to Bird Construction, to include bulk demolition, bulk excavation and related support work. Work package #2 (all other project work) will come forward for approval in early summer.
