CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on the Federal Government funding announcement in Stanley Park May 22, Solar BC event at Brockton Oval May 28, Fraser River Park Kiosk unveiling May 29, launch of First Tee Youth Golf Program June 4 and Marpole Community Day June 5.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
Park Board related items on City Council and Committee agenda this week: Motion re making City Hall available to HST canvassers, Motion re Office of Public Consultation, Vancouver Sport Hosting Grant allocations, temporary float plane terminal in Coal Harbour, amendment to City of Vancouver Health By-Law, and Heritage Incentives Policy for Landscape Resources.

STAFF REPORTS

Partnership Opportunity with Canadian Sport Centre Pacific for Southeast False Creek
A 5 year lease agreement was approved with Canadian Sport Centre Pacific at the Southeast False Creek recreation centre; the agreement will not adversely affect Park Board positions at the centre. The partnership which will provide expanded programming opportunities, increased profile and enhanced amenities at the new waterfront facility.

Marketing & Business Development Advisory Committee - Terms of Reference
The Board approved the purpose, role, objectives, membership and general code of conduct of a new advisory committee which will provide the Board with expert advice and input on initiatives/issus related to marketing, business development and customer service.

Allocation of funds from Corporate Sponsorship
The Board approved a contribution of $50,000 from the Corporate Sponsorship Reserve fund toward the installation of 2 power hubs in David Lam Park. The work, which will provide a permanent power source for filming and special events, will be done as part of the post 2010 Winter Games restoration of the site.

Shaughnessy Restaurant - Rent Review and Lease Extension
A rent of 6% of gross food and beverage revenue was approved for VanDusen's Shaughnessy Restaurant for the period April 10, 2010 to March 31, 2015. The Board approved a 5 year renewal option for April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2020 based on a minimum capital expenditure of $200,000 to improve the dining room, washrooms and outside patio area.

MOTION

The Board put forward a Motion that the General Manager may permit persons canvassing in support of recall or initiative petitions duly issued under the Recall and Inititative Act to set up for and carry out such canvassing activities within lobbies of Park Board controlled community centres in which and to the extent such activities, in the General Manager's opinion, can be safely and reasonably accommodated and subject to such restrictions, terms and conditions as the General Manager may require. The Motion carried.
