Meeting Agenda - January 14 , 2008

The Chair reported on the December 15th anniversary of the Stanley Park windstorm at which major donors were recognized and ceremonial trees planted. The thousands of other donors who contributed money, time, expertise, equipment and services were also thanked. On December 19th, ground breaking for the new Nanook Day Care Centre took place in China Creek Park. The Chair passed on two notes of appreciation to staff - from the organizers of last November's Remembrance Day event at the Japanese Monument in Stanley Park for their good care of the site; and from recipients of the recent Stanley Park Restoration Report for the comprehensive project update provided by the publication. New Director of Stanley District, Peter Kuran, was welcomed.

Park Board related items on Council agenda this week are Cultural Harmony Awards - presentation of winners and tree planting ceremony, and Motion about animal services in the city.
