    Staff report dated September 23, 2009 recommending that the Board approve the concept design for the new Trout Lake Community Centre Development Permit Application.

  2. Operating Plan – 2010 Olympics
    Staff report dated September 24, 2009 recommending that the Board receive this report for information.
  3. Riley Park Community Centre, Ice Rink and Curling Club Renewal: Allocation of Capital Funds
    Staff report dated September 24, 2009 recommending that the Board request that Council allocate $13.0 million to fund the renewal of Riley Park Community Centre, Riley Park Ice Rink and Vancouver Curling Club sources of fund as identified in the report.

MOTION
  1. The following motion was put forward by Commissioner Barnes:

    Whereas the 2009 Provincial budget has indicated significant cuts to the Arts and Culture and Sport and Recreation grant funding;

    Therefore be it resolved that staff consult community partners to determine the impact of these cuts to programs and services in Vancouver parks and recreation facilities.


  2. The following motion was put forward by Commissioner Mackinnon:
  3. Whereas public health is a priority for all levels of government;

    And whereas the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation maintains public amenities that can contribute to the health and well-being of the citizens of Vancouver;

          And whereas washing of hands with soap and water is a first defence against infection;

    Be it resolved that the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation supply soap and where possible hot water in public washrooms maintained by the Board.

In-Camera Meeting

This matter was referred from the in-camera meeting of the Board held on Monday, September 21, 2009.

THAT the Board later this evening go into a meeting which is closed to the public, pursuant to Section 165.2 (1) of the Vancouver Charter, to discuss matters related to paragraph:

(k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of an activity, work or facility that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the Board, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the Park Board if they were held in public.
