CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on the Royal Visit to VanDusen Botanical Garden, the 2009/2011 Vancouver Biennale Launch at Morton Park, and the Missing Women Memorial Service in Thornton Park.
COMMITTEE REPORT
On the last Planning and Environment Committee agenda were: Riley Rink Presentation, and Facility Infrastructure Renewal Plan.
GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
Park Board related items on Council agenda this week: Operating Budget 2010 and Northeast False Creek Directions for the Future.
STAFF REPORTS
2010 Fees and Charges
The Board approved the 2010 User Fees and Charges, following public consultation and feedback from residents. The new rates, which address inflationary increase requirements and comparative market rates, allow the Park Board to work towards meeting its 2010 budget targets.
Special Events 2010 Calendar
The Calendar of Major Events for 2010 was approved by the Board. These annual special events enhance the cultural experience for residents and visitors to parks and beaches, and bring economic benefit through tourism and fundraising opportunities for community organizations.
NEXT MEETING
A Special Board meeting will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 2009 Beach Avenue.
The next regular Park Board meeting will be held at 7 pm on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 2099 Beach Avenue.
