CHAIR'S REPORT

The Chair reported on the recent passing of former Park Board Commissioner Art Cowie (who served 1971 to 1974 and 1988 to 1993) and acknowledged his significant contributions to the City and Park Board.

STAFF REPORT

2010 Operating Budget Update
The Board approved the 2010 operating budget cutbacks totalling $2.8 million, with the exception of those proposed for Sunset Nursery, and directed staff to evaluate alternative options (to those proposed at Sunset) to meet the overall 2010 budget requirements. Once Council approves the City's 2010 Operating Budget on December 3, Park Board staff will begin to implement the approved changes in the areas of parks, recreation, maintenance and revenue services.

The next regular Park Board meeting will be held at 7 pm on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 2099 Beach Avenue.
