WHEREAS the Greenest City Action Team is advocating for an increase in parks and green spaces in addition to an increase in community gardens; and

WHEREAS previous Park Boards (2002-2005 and 2006-2008) have been in support of the closure of the 2000 block of Waterloo Street so as to unify McBride Park;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Vancouver Park Board reaffirm its support for the unification of McBride Park and the closure of the 2000 block of Waterloo Street and requests that City Council consider the issue with the goal of unifying the park and specifically seek solutions to create a community garden in the area occupied by the current road surface.
