CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on the New Brighton memorial marker unveiling, West End Car Free Day, Point Grey Fiesta, Dragon Boat Festival, Vancouver International Soccer Festival and West End Seniors Strawberry Tea.
GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
Park Board related items on City Council and Committee agenda this week: Kensington Park dedication of land for road purposes, 2010 capital budget, closeouts and status, and Development Cost Levies September 2010 inflationary rate adjustments.
STAFF REPORTS
Fraserview Park Upgrade - Construction Contract Award
The contract was awarded to Interpave Precast Systems in the amount of $538,562 for the upgrade of East Vancouver's Fraserview Park which will increase its useability and aesthetic appeal. Construction is set to begin in late June, with completion by March 2011.
2010 Basic Capital Budget, Supplementary Capital Budget & Closeouts
The Board received the City Council report on capital budget, closeout and status for information. The Park Board 2010 capital budget was approved in the amount of $79,735,000 for renewal of parks, community recreation facilities and street tree planting. Carry forward projects totalling $26,834,163 from previous years (the 2006 - 2008 capital plan and 2009 capital budget) were received for information. Capital program closeouts and reallocations of $951,993 were approved.
