CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on Chinese New Year celebrations and Black History Month in February as well as last week's completion of the Second Beach section of the Seawall.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
Park Board related items on City Council and Committee agenda this week: 2011 Capital Budget and 2010 Capital Closeouts, Sport Hosting Grant for FIFA 2015 Women's World Cup and 2014 Women's Under 20 Cup, and confirmation of Commissioner Blyth as Park Board representative on the PNE Board of Directors.

PRESENTATION
The Vancouver Foundation presented findings from their 2010 Vital Signs Report for Metro Vancouver.

STAFF REPORTS

Capital Budget 2011
The Board approved the Park Board 2011 Capital Budget of $12,218,000 for park and facility projects plus $3,000,000 for emerging priorities funded through other City funding. The Board received for information the Capital Program Carry Forwards from the 2006-08 Capital Plan and the 2009-10 Capital Budgets with a remaining balance of $59,853,144. The Board approved the Capital Program Close Out and Reallocations in the amount of $456,803.

Contract Award Roundhouse Plaza Redevelopment
A contract for $1.4 million was entered into with Smith Bros.& Wilson (BC) for Roundhouse Plaza redevelopment. The renovation will improve the landscaping of the space to provide for more use of the currently under utilized public area. One third of the funding is from the Federal Infrastructure Stimulus Fund program. Construction is planned to be complete this summer.

East Fraserlands Neighborhood Park North
The Board approved the concept plan for the Neighborhood Park North, the first neighborhood park at East Fraserlands, a new residential community in South Vancouver. The new park is targetted to open in early Fall 2011.
