CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on the Ross Park fruit tree planting, Cedar Tree of Life planting at Oppenheimer Park, Vaisakhi Day celebrations and YouthPolitik program; and upcoming: sustainability event at Sunset Nursery and Earth Day activities at Vancouver parks.

COMMITTEE REPORT
On the last Planning and Environment Committee agenda: "Save our Elms" presentation, Indoor Tennis Feasibility Study and Boathouse Restaurant Patio Proposal.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
Park Board related item on City Services and Budget Committee agenda this week: 2010 Annual Financial Report for the City. The Park Board recently held a quarterly meeting with First Nations partners to develop stronger relationships. The General Manager addressed the YMCA's strategic planning session on the subject of increasing collaborative opportunities.

PRESENTATION
A cheque for $92,866 was presented to the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund, which represents the share of Miniature Train revenues from the annual Bright Nights in Stanley Park event. The Park Board's partnership with the Fire Fighters is in its 13th year.

STAFF REPORTS

Accomplishments Report 2010
The Board received for information the key accomplishments from 2010 as guided by the Strategic Plan. Significant progress was made in all areas of the organization.

Vancouver Aquarium Development Permit Revision
Revised Development Permit design plans were approved for the Aquarium's revitalization and expansion project, the scope of which has been scaled down to focus on areas that require the most attention. Starting in September 2011, the project will be built in phases while the Aquarium remains open for business.

Nelson Park Washroom
The Board approved the installation of an Automatic Public Toilet in Nelson Park through a collaboration with the Engineering department. Staff will host a public open house about this unit before its installation. The project will serve as a pilot with potential consideration for other park locations.
