CHAIR'S REPORT
The Chair reported on the automated external defibrillators donation event, annual Polar Bear Swim at English Bay, launch of Vancouver parks map app, and Artists in Communities celebration at Sunset Community Centre. She also recognized Martin Luther King Day.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT
The General Manager introduced Bill Harding, the new Director of Parks, and reported on the upcoming elm tree celebration event on East 6th Avenue.

STAFF REPORTS

Harbourview Daycare - Burrardview Park Lease Renewal
The Board entered into a lease with Kiwassa Neighborhood Services Association for a portion of Burrardview Park for a period of five years plus two five-year renewal options from February 1, 2012 to February 1, 2027. The Association has provided licensed childcare services to the Hastings Sunrise community for over 35 years.

2012 National Youth Beach Volleyball Championships
The Board approved the special event permit application from Volleyball BC for the 2012 National Beach Volleyball Championships, August 17 to 19 at Spanish Banks Beach. Organizers expect 180 teams of the best young players in Canada.

The next regular Park Board meeting will be held at 7 pm on Monday, January 30, 20121 at 2099 Beach Avenue.
