Staff Items
Shaughnessy Restaurant Lease Extension
The Board approved a five year renewal option for the Shaughnessy Restaurant at VanDusen Botanical Garden from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025, based on a minimum capital expenditure of $300,000. The new improvements to the previous gift shop area and conversion of an outdoor deck area will upgrade the current facilities and provide increased revenues.
2014 Proposed Park Board Operating and Capital Budget
The Board reviewed the service plans, proposed operating and capital budgets and service metrics for 2014.
Fees and Charges 2013 and 2014
The Board deferred approval of changes to the 2013-2014 Fees and Charges (summarized in the report) to the December 16, 2013 Park Board meeting.
General Manager’s Report
Park Board related items at Council and Committee this week include: City’s Earthquake Preparedness Strategy and the Third Quarter Capital Budget Adjustments and Closeouts report; as well as the Budget Dialogue Town Hall meeting and opportunity for the public to ask staff questions on before the City’s 2014 Budget goes to Council for consideration on December 10, 2013.

The Board approved the recommendations of Committee: Shaughnessy Restaurant Lease Extension, 2014 Proposed Park Board Operating and Capital Budget, and Fees and Charges 2013/2014 (see Highlights above).
